The force clock pointed at something else. The city publishes every library branch with its hours as one human sentence and nothing reads them back, so there is no way to ask which are open at this minute. Same windows, same rule, same refusal to guess.
A wrong happy hour costs someone four dollars. A wrong "open now" costs a trip. That is the whole reason this machine was built the careful way, and the reason it belongs on hours that matter more than these.

Not readable
Branches whose published hours we cannot turn into a window. They are never called open and never called shut, and the city's own words are printed instead of ours.
Read from the Chicago Data Portal on 2026-08-28. Hours are parsed on every read, so a correction to how we read the city's sentence does not need a re-fetch. Nothing here re-implements time: a branch's hours become the same window a happy hour uses, and the same function answers both.
