Distances run from the middle of what we have verified in West Loop, which is not the centre of the neighborhood and moves as coverage changes. The walk follows the Chicago grid at 3 miles an hour, so it reads longer than the straight line and longer still than a route that catches a diagonal.

Held back from the reading: 1 you couldn’t reach in time, kept at the bottom; 1 we can’t put on the map, so no walk time.

Two other readings

  • A group, at an hour you name

Four of you at quarter past six, with the printed price multiplied out per head and across the party. Meet holds arithmetic this page has no business doing for one person.

  • A whole evening, and whether you get home

Two rooms strung together, the walk between them measured, and the last direct train checked against the hour the second one shuts. Tonight holds the evening this page does not.

Both links carry what you have already said, in the words those pages use. Neither of them asks you for it again.

What this cannot tell you

Whether there is a table. Whether the kitchen is still on. Whether the second room has a queue at nine on a Friday. None of that is in any record we can fetch, so none of it is claimed here.

The walk is a grid distance at a deliberately slow pace, not a curb, elevator or accessible-route audit, and it starts from the plate rather than from your doorstep. Tax, tip, queues and unsourced minimum purchases are not invented into a printed figure. A window with no dollar figure printed on its source is never read as the cheap one.

Nothing about you is stored and nothing is asked of your device: the whole of what you said is in the link, which is also how you hand this reading to somebody else. Every row links to its slip, with the source and the day it was last read, and how a deal earns a light is written down. The desk carries what could not be confirmed.
